The Property Brothers, twins Drew and Jonathan Scott, have had a lot to celebrate about over the last year.
The 40-year-old HGTV stars joined their parents, Jim and Joanne, in Scotland last summer to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Drew and Jonathan gifted their parents with the surprise trip so they could renew their vows in Jim's birthplace.
“They had originally eloped, so they never had a real wedding,” Jonathan explained recently in a Facebook Live video. “So after 50 years of marriage, this August we’re going to Scotland and we’re going to renew their vows.”
A few weeks after the milestone, the twins published their tell-all book, It Takes Two: Our Story, and it made it onto the New York Times Best Seller list.
In the book, the siblings candidly discuss their journey to fame and the struggles they had along the way, including bankruptcy and divorce.
"We wanted this to be an honest, unedited, unadulterated look at what our lives are like," Jonathan said. "I think fans would feel like something was missing if we edited anything out. It was important for us to make it whole."
Despite the rough patches they hit, both Drew and Jonathan were able to get back on their feet financially and romantically.
Jonathan is now living with his long-term girlfriend, Jacint Kuznetsov, and they're looking forward to getting married and having kids in the near future.
“We definitely want to get married and have kids, but we’re just finding joy in our relationship and still learning about each other as well,” says Jonathan. “We’ve only been dating a year and a half, but I don’t think we’ll wait seven years like Drew did before we decide what we’re going to do.”
Drew finally got engaged to his longtime love, Linda Phan, in December 2016. He popped the question while they dined at Piano Piano, a restaurant in Toronto, Canada.
“I mean, for six years I’ve been waiting for her to propose to me, and I just figured she’s not going to do it,” Drew joked. “No, when you have someone as amazing as Linda, it was important to propose [because] I want to be with her for the rest of my life.”
The couple, who met at a Toronto Fashion Week event in 2010, started planning their wedding right away, and after over a year of preparations, they finally had their dream destination wedding.
Drew and Linda tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in southern Italy on May 12, surrounded by 300 of their family and friends.
“I’m still on cloud nine,” the home-building expert told Entertainment Tonight. “[I’m] getting used to the new hardware. I constantly catch myself saying, ‘My fiancée, Linda. Wait no -- wife.'"
The couple kept many of the wedding details and the photos to themselves for a while, but they finally revealed some of the photos of their big day.
Take a look at the photos below, they're breathtaking!
Drew stayed true to his Scottish heritage by wearing a kilt, while Linda donned a gorgeous, nontraditional dress with a sheer, floral top.
The photographer captured the bride and groom's first look in the photo below. Drew told People that it was "the most beautiful moment ever."
“The moment I saw Linda coming down the aisle... I was like, boo hoo. I ugly cry,” Drew admitted. “I made it two words into my speech and I completely fell apart. I knew it was going to happen and the good thing is when you're wearing a kilt it's a built-in tissue -- I just took the snot off my face with the kilt.”
The couple had a big wedding party made up of 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen, including Drew's two best men, Scott and older brother JD.
"Surrounded by so many loved ones in such a beautiful place was unreal. We are very, very lucky. Friends, family, amazing food, blue skies and being even more in love than ever before—what more could we ask for?"
The release of the photos comes ahead of the June 2nd premiere of the newlyweds's one-hour TLC special Property Brothers: Linda & Drew Say I Do.
The show will follow the couple as they embark on a week of festivities prior to their whimsical outdoor wedding.
Before saying "I do," Drew and Linda held unique bachelor and bachelorette excursions, including a bicycle tour and cooking classes. They also hosted an Apulian-style party to welcome their guests.
“There was never a thought of doing anything else for both of us,” said Drew. “A whole week to hang out on a beach, enjoy each others’ company: that sounded like the perfect wedding to us.”
We won't know much more about the big day until the special airs, but People reported that the couple's first dance was choreographed by Drew's former Dancing with the Stars partner Emma Slater, and her husband, Sasha Farber.
In lieu of a registry, Drew and Linda partnered with ME to WE, a nonprofit that they're passionate about.
Their cake was made with four flavors, vanilla with goat cheese and strawberry balsamic, organic red velvet, carrot and chocolate hazelnut.
For their honeymoon, they're planning a charity trip to Ecuador, but not until August. In the meantime, they're excited about having some downtime after months of planning.
“I’m most looking forward to spending more time together,” said Drew. “We’ve been working so hard for so long, I’m looking forward to making plans to settle down and just enjoy doing nothing once in a while.”
As for children, expect to see some little ones in the future, but the couple is in no rush.
“Linda and I will have kids,” Drew said. “One day soon we’ll have kids. No rush. Don’t rush me! But we’ll have kids soon.”
Congratulations to Drew and Linda! They're such a wonderful couple, and we can't wait to watch Property Brothers: Linda & Drew Say I Do.
